La Crosse Storytelling Festival kicks off Friday

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Storytellers will take to the Pump House this weekend for the 19th annual La Crosse Storytelling Festival.

It’s a two-day, family-friendly event featuring food, live music, and three nationally-renowned storytellers. Doors open Friday at 6 p.m. for a “creepy and spooky” story night.

Saturday morning will be geared to stories for young children, and stories for all ages are set for Saturday afternoon.

“It’s a way for us to bring the art of storytelling to people that maybe don’t know much about it,” said Mary Lawrence, a festival organizer. “It is art that is sometimes misunderstood.”

Tickets are between $18 and $25 depending on which theme you attend. You can get your ticket at the festival’s own website or at the Pump House.
