La Crosse student helps out foster kids with lemonade and toys
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Helping foster kids one cup of lemonade at a time.
Kaya Poff, a La Crosse 8-year-old, wanted to help foster kids.
She did it all with lemonade and an Amazon Wishlist.
Kaya focused her efforts on helping Black, Latino, and biracial children.
It all started with a lemonade stand this summer and it soon turned into a wish list with all kinds of gifts for kids.
Kaya and her mom Kate are using it as an opportunity to spread positivity.
“Be kind to everyone around you so it will spread and make the world a better place.” said Kaya.
Some of the items she got for those kids included dolls, sleep caps, and books.
Kaya and her mom are planning to meet with a social worker later in the week to drop off the donations.
