La Crosse woman arrested for fighting teen, police
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — A La Crosse woman was arrested this week after she was accused of putting a child in a headlock, then fighting with sheriff deputies who were taking her into custody.
Connie R. Abraham Lehrke, 54, was charged in La Crosse County Circuit Court with physical abuse of a child and resisting an officer causing injury, both as a repeat offender.
Abraham Lehrke is accused of starting a fight with a 15-year-old boy at just after 4 p.m. Tuesday. According to the criminal complaint, Abraham Lehrke physically barred the boy from leaving, putting him in a headlock and knocking his glasses off before wrestling him to the ground.
Abraham Lehrke denied that anything had gotten physical, saying that they were only arguing, according to the complaint. The boy then picked up his glasses, which had bent frames and a missing lens, from the floor.
When members of the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office began to arrest her, Abraham Lehrke began fighting deputies, trying to kick them and bending back the thumb of one deputy, according to the complaint.
Abraham Lehrke was previously convicted in an incident involving the same child. She served 9 days in jail after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct.
