La Crosse YMCA adds machine to help cancer survivors
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Cancer survivors in La Crosse have a new tool to help keep themselves healthy.
The La Crosse Area Family YMCA celebrated the addition of an In-Body 270. The machine is designed to assist instructors in recommending exercise programs for cancer survivors in the YMCA’s ‘Live Strong’ program.
Staff say working to correct muscle loss from cancer treatments is important.
“And so we can target those areas to help them eventually get back and have that normal living, functional living that they had before their treatments,” said Denise Malone, Cancer Survivorship Coordinator with La Crosse Area Family YMCA.
The new machine was made possible by a grant from the La Crosse Community Foundation.
