La Crosse’s Burns Park construction is complete

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Construction on Burns Park has been completed, the La Crosse parks department announced Wednesday.

The City of La Crosse Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department and the Downtown Neighborhood Association have teamed together to revitalize Burns Park.

Join the committee for a soft-opening 3 p.m. Thursday at Burns Park. This park was enhanced by adding a program space, updating the landscaping, and adding a fun playscape. Chess pieces will be available to check out from the library so families can enjoy the new chess tables added to the park.

There is a dedicated art wall in the park and the committee will be looking for local artists to showcase their artwork on this wall.

A larger grand opening held in spring of 2021 when landscaping and artwork is complete. The Parks and Recreation Department is looking forward to working with the Downtown Neighborhood Association and other neighbors of the park and we are all excited to be able to have programs at this location in the future.
