LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A 20-year long sister city relationship is honored Thursday with an international statue dedication.
Foreign Language School #2, a school in Luoyang, China that La Crosse often has exchange teachers with, gifted a carved granite fish sculpture to La Crosse. The sculpture symbolizes courage and perseverance for students and is now installed at La Crosse’s International Friendship Gardens.
Members of the La Crosse School District, UWL’s School of Education, the La Crosse-Luoyang Friendship Association, and the International Friendship Gardens dedicated the statue Thursday afternoon.
