LA CROSSE (WKBT) — La Crosse’s Family and Children’s Center is celebrating 30 years of the “Healthy Families” program.

The program helps parents before and up after their baby is born. Families can remain in the program until the child is five years old or ready for school. The current program participants got together at the Trane All Abilities Park on Tuesday, June 28th for a social event.

“We’re celebrating them as parents. We believe that every parent deserves a support person in the community, ” Program Supervisor Andrea Pierson explained.

The “Healthy Families” program provides parents with help and education about everything from community resources to how to care for their child.

The program has the capacity to help 75 families in La Crosse County and 20 families in Vernon County.
