La Crosse’s MTU launches mobile bus pass app

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – MTU is going mobile.

Bus riders can now download a mobile bus pass app on their phone, buy passes, and get on the bus using a QR code.

Tim Koterwski, operations manager for MTU, says it can make getting on the bus faster.

“They don’t have to dig out their wallet to get their bus pass, they can just load up the QR code,” said Koterwski. “There’s a scanner on the bus and you’ll hear it beep and the scanner will go green, and you’ll be good to go.”

To find the app, search “MTU mobile pay” in your phone’s Apple Store or Google Play.

Seniors, La Crosse School District students, and people with disabilities can contact MTU for help downloading the app and creating an account.
