La Crosse’s Salvation Army surpasses Red Kettle campaign goal
Volunteers helped raise $251,000 during Red Kettle campaign
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The Salvation Army of La Crosse County is celebrating passing its Red Kettle campaign goal.
It raised more than $251,000 — $1,000 more than the goal. That money makes up about a third of the organization’s yearly budget.
“People haven’t forgotten about the people most in need in our community,” said Isaiah Thomas, the development director at the Salvation Army of La Crosse County. “People still have the giving spirit even though we’ve had such challenges over the past two years.”
More than 2,800 volunteers rang bells to collect donations this holiday season. The Salvation Army is still accepting donations online and in person.
