La Crosse’s Schneider plans to donate portion of mayoral salary if elected
Schneider is one of ten candidates on the ballot seeking to be La Crosse's next mayor
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A La Crosse mayoral candidate says he plans to take a $30,000 paycut if he is elected.
Sam Schneider announced the plan Wednesday outside of the La Crosse Center.
“Some of have lost their jobs. Others have closed the doors to their business to not be opened again, for some cases. Others have even been pushed to the brink of homelessness. If the people of the city of La Crosse are suffering these losses, why shouldn’t the mayor feel it too?” said La Crosse mayor candidate Sam Schneider.
Schneider says he will donate the money to local charities, if he is elected.
He is one of ten candidates on the ballot running to be La Crosse’s next mayor.
