Large waste pick-up fee increased in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — If you’re looking to throw out a large unwanted item in La Crosse and have it hauled away, it could cost you a little extra.
La Crosse’s Board of Public Works approved increasing the pick-up fee for large waste to $12.75. That’s a $4.00 increase from what it was previously.
Harter’s Quick Service says they’ve only been doing about four pick-ups a day.
“It’s just been low participation so when we go out and we pick up. When we go out and pick it up in the city we have a lot of drive time between households,” said Gary Harter of Harter’s Quick Clean Up.
The increase for Harter’s service is still lower than the city’s next lowest bidder of $15.
