Last-minute shoppers hit area retailers
The last round of shoppers were out beating the clock as Christmas morning draws near.
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Valley View Mall in Onalaska is always busy on Christmas Eve and Saturday wasn’t any different.
During the last day of holiday shopping, the mall typically sees a lot of men and kids rushing to finish some last-minute shopping.
Directors at the mall say shoppers actually see a few extra deals on Christmas Eve as stores try to get rid of their remaining Christmas inventory.
The mall will be closed Christmas Day but Monday is expected to draw a large crowd.
“The day after Christmas is enormous especially now because gift cards are a more acceptable gift than they used to be so you have a lot of people who want to use those gift cards right away and get those must have items before they’re gone,” said Laurie Cafe, marketing director for Valley View Mall.
The mall reopen at 8 a.m. Monday.
