Late surge gives Blair-Taylor victory over Marathon
BLAIR, Wis. (WKBT)–A 3-run fifth inning gave Blair-Taylor a one-run lead over Marathon, good enough to win the sectional semifinal 5-4.
The Wildcats held a 2-1 lead throughout most of the contest, before Marathon rallied in the fifth, getting 3 runs across to force a 4-2 lead.
Alivia Boe’s 2 RBI double sparked the Wildcat comeback in the 5th.
The Wildcats protected their lead in the 7th, as Lindsay Steien struck out the side to seal the game.
