League of Women Voters in Winona will hold virtual forums
The goal is to provide a series of non-partisan forums to allow the public to learn more about the candidates and how they stand on the issues
WINONA, Minn (WKBT) – The League of Women Voters in Winona is hosting a virtual forum to meet many of the candidates in this upcoming election.
The goal is to provide a series of non-partisan forums to allow the public to learn more about the candidates and how they stand on the issues.
The virtual forums are set to take place over the next three days.
Candidates from multiple local and state races will be in attendance including the City of Winona, State Senate Districts 21 and 28, and the Winona Area Public School Board.
· Monday, September 28: 5:30 pm & 7:00 pm (City of Winona, first then Winona County Board)
· Tuesday, September 29: 5:30 pm & 7:00 pm (House of Representatives, District 21B & 28A and next Senate Districts 21 & 28)
· Wednesday, September 30: 5:30 pm (Winona Area Public School Board, Districts 3,4,& 5)
Send questions for candidates at least 24 hours in advance of each forum to: lwvwinona@lwvmn.org or use private/direct Facebook message to the League of Women Voters – Winona, Minnesota. Every effort will be made to get your question to candidates.
· View the events live on public government cable TV of the City of Winona’s local public access channel 987 for Charter/Spectrum or HBC Channel 19.
· You may also join live via ZOOM on your laptop, computer, or smart phone for the greater City/County area. Directions for joining with ZOOM are on the LWV Winona Facebook page, as well. Join by clicking on the link to the forum ~7 minutes prior to the start. You will be on mute.
· If you do not have a smart phone or computer to view the proceedings or if you don’t have great computer connectivity, you can still listen-in with older phones using the dial-up numbers.
