Leap year Holmen twins celebrate 2nd birthday

HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) — 8-year-old twin sisters from Holmen are celebrated their Leap Year birthday Monday.

Sammi and Sara Tweed of Holmen were born back in 2008.  Technically, they’re only celebrating their second birthday. 

They took questions from their classmates Monday about having birthdays on a leap year.

They say they it’s nice to have an actual birthday and are taking full advantage of the perks that come a long with the special day.

“I was supposed to be a table washer in lunch and since it was my birthday, they said the next person had to do it. I’m like that’s fair, so fair, I’m so happy. I love this birthday.”

The two celebrated the day by handing out cupcakes to their class.
