LeBron becomes youngest to 30,000 points
LeBron James became the youngest to reach 30,000 career points in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 114-102 road loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night.
Needing just seven points to reach the milestone coming into the game, James hit a jumper with 1.1 second remaining in the first quarter to give him eight points for the game and 30,001 for his career.
He finished with 28 points on 10-of-23 shooting to up his total to 30,021 points.
He reached 30,000 points at the age of 33 years and 24 days, beating Kobe Bryant’s previous record of 34 years and 104 days.
He also joined some elite company in the process, with the rest of the 30,000-point club including Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain and Dirk Nowitzki.
