Legislative forum held on UW-La Crosse campus
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Wisconsin state legislators are gathering to discuss the state’s budget.
The discussion was part of a legislative forum held Friday at UW-La Crosse.
Senator Jennifer Shilling, along with three local representatives discussed Governor Evers’ proposed budget for the state.
This type of event helps lawmakers understand how people feel about what is happening at the state capitol.
“If we don’t hear from the constituents, what’s going on, what their side of the story is, and that’s how we learn is hearing from constituents either by phone call, e-mail or forums like this,” said state representative Loren Oldenberg.
The forum was sponsored by UW-La Crosse’s Joint Legislative Regents Committee.
