Lenora Edmondson
March 8, 1950 - May 1, 2022
It is with extreme sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Lenora L. Edmondson (Drahos) on May 1, 2022, at the age of 72.
Lenora was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed. She was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on March 8, 1950, to Antone and Lenora (Hamilton) Drahos. She graduated from Waterloo East High School with the class of 1968. Following high school, she pursued her dreams of marriage and starting a family. Her dreams of motherhood came true with the birth of her three kids, Tony, Rhoda and Jonathan, born from her former spouse Michael S. Edmondson.
While raising her kids as a single mom in Independence, Iowa, she worked many different jobs. She moved to La Crosse in 2005 to be closer to her grandchildren. She worked until she retired early from La Crosse Technology in La Crosse at the age of 62, due to health issues.
Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved her family immensely and loved her friends intensely. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Lenora. She loved to entertain, congregate and support others. She enjoyed line dancing, music, ice cream and cars — preferably red convertibles. Her life revolved around any opportunity to be with friends and family.
Lenora was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on 12/21/68. Her faith was unshakable. Lenora’s passion was preaching the good news about God’s Kingdom. She encouraged and inspired hope to many through the Scriptures. She looked forward to living under God’s Kingdom, where he promises “Death will be no more” Revelation 21:4. She read the Bible daily. She believed the word of God who said at Psalms 146:4 “His spirit goes out, he returns to the ground; on that very day his thoughts do perish.” She is resting peacefully in God’s memory until the promise is fulfilled at John 5:28, 29 to be resurrected to life on earth with abundance of peace forever. (Psalms 37:11, 29)
She is survived by her children, Tony (Teresa), Rhoda A. Edmondson Lundt (Michael) and Jonathan, and her grandchildren, Alyssa L. Lundt, Mikoda J. Lundt and Danika L. Lundt.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Mark Drahos and Rick Drahos.
With a passionate spirit and determined grit and smile she will be remembered as a faithful friend of God, doting mother, and proud grandmother who could push through any obstacle.
A zoom memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 14. Meeting ID: 893 2794 3624; passcode: 132133
We thank Schumacher Kish for the cremation services.
