Lingering Rain & Snow Showers In Spots This Evening -Bill Graul

Another Round Of Snow Possible Saturday Night

Tonight’s Forecast Low: 29F / Saturday’s Forecast High: 38F…

Rain and snow showers impacted the region Thursday night into Friday… with minor snow accumulations less than 1/2″ on some of the ridge tops and across higher terrain. No snow accumulated in most of the valleys, including the La Crosse area.

Still expect some lingering light rain and snow showers this evening, but most should taper around 10 p.m. or so. Otherwise, it will be a mostly cloudy and blustery night with lows in the 24-30F range. Winds will be from the NW 10-20 mph, with gusts around 25 mph possible. This will add an extra bite to the chilly conditions.

2020 Evening 8 To 8

Friday Night Forecast

Partly to mostly cloudy Saturday and dry for much of the day. Chilly though with highs in the 35-40F range. A clipper system will then bring another round of snow Saturday night into early Sunday. It looks like the bulk of the snow or mix would fall from about 7 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday.

As of now, light snow accumulations look like a good bet with this system… with the highest totals expected near and north/east of I-94. Expect lower amounts south/west where rain or drizzle could mix in at times. Like last night, elevation will likely come into play as well… with more snow accumulating across higher terrain. Due to possible travel impacts and the fact we are early in the snow season… Saturday night will be an ALERT NIGHT if you will. Use caution and be sure to stay tuned for updates on expected snowfall amounts.
