Local business, non-profit, hosts Easter basket giveaway

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Many Easter events are canceled, but the Easter Bunny is still hopping around town.

Barge Berkley Chiropractic Clinics and Amy’s Closet non-profit organized a drive-by Easter basket giveaway.

Dressed up in costumes, volunteers handed out 300 Easter baskets to kids in our area.

It’s to keep these special traditions going and spark a little joy.

And there was plenty of candy to go around.

The Federal Credit Union’s annual egg giveaway was canceled, so it donated 60 pounds of chocolate eggs to Amy’s Closet!

The big donation is how this unique event came to life.

“We didn’t know what to do with it so we tried to find all kinds of organizations that could utilize it in some way, shape, or form. We still had so much chocolate we came up with this event to give back to the kids,” said Dr. Mike Berkley, Barge Berkley Chiropractic Clinics.

He says when the event was posted to Facebook it really took off.

Easter Baskets were handed out at Barge Berkley Chiropractic Clinics’ La Crosse and Holmen locations.
