La Crescent church hosts Mass outside for safety

LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) – One local church and elementary school are finding creative ways to worship during the pandemic. Factoring in social distancing guidelines, Crucifixion Elementary students in La Crescent, as well as parents and teachers headed outdoors to take advantage of the nice weather.

“Today we’re having outdoor Mass, so we can have the whole school gather in a very safe way,” said the Rev. John Evans, pastor at Crucifixion Catholic Church and school.

Evans says it’s important to keep some normal aspects to the children’s lives, and if having Mass outside does that, it makes him happy.
