Local gardeners are getting ready for spring

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – La Crosse will be blooming in just a few weeks. The Washburn Neighborhood Association hosted its annual Garden Expo at Lincoln Middle School on Saturday.

Local green thumbs shared their tips and tricks to growing all kinds of plants.

Multiple exhibits taught people about different types of gardens and how to build them.

Plus, there were healthy recipes available for those thinking about planting edible gardens.

The judging and award ceremony for the painted barrel contest also took place at the event.

It’s a great way to spring into the season.

“It’s fun, people love it. This is the start of spring, March 7th, you know, people have their seed catalogs and they’re ready to get their hands dirty. We love it,” said Randy Magno, Washburn Neighborhood Association committee member.

This is the 15th annual Washburn Garden Expo.
