Local pitcher Nevin Wall fulfills dream playing for Loggers

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)-This summer has been wild for everyone, including the Loggers.

They recently had to replace a few players returning to college, which opened opportunities for a lifelong goal to be accomplished.

Growing up a Loggers fan, Nevin Wall is familiar to baseball in the Coulee Region.

He threw a no-hitter for Holmen legion baseball, and in his college years he was hoping to play in the Northwoods League.

But the pandemic put that on hold, so Nevin played for Sparta-Miller in the Mississippi Valley League to keep his arm fresh and worked a summer job until he got the call.

“I grew up watching the loggers play, and I always wanted to play for them growing up and this is the perfect opportunity to do that. Even if it’s just for the rest of the summer you have to take advantage. You’ve got some great baseball here in La Crosse and you got to just play as much as you can,” said Wall.

Nevin says his boss was very understanding when he had to resign to play ball.
