Local softball stars named WFSCA All-State
Several standout local softball players were named to the Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association (WFSCA) All-State list on Thursday.
Blair-Taylor had two players make the list: center fielder/pitcher Lindsay Steien and super-utility player Chloe Wagner. Steien batted .561 for the top of the Wildcat order, while Wagner batted .466 with 35 RBI.
Westby sophomore ace pitcher Jayda Berg also made the list after a lights-out year that included a perfect game. She went 17-2 as a pitcher with a 1.05 ERA and 233 strikeouts. She averaged almost two strikeouts per inning. Offensively she batted .304 with an on-base percentage of .409.
Holmen’s Sydney Jahr represents our region on the Large School list after hitting .479 with 40 RBI.
Arcadia’s Chloe Halverson and G-E-T’s Genna O’Neill were also named.
