Local youth dancers perform for a virtual audience

Even in the midst of a pandemic, the show must go on

ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) – Local dancers are proving that the show must go on.

It’s recital weekend for Misty’s Dance Unlimited, and this year it’s taking the event online.

It’s called the Red Carpet Recital Experience.

To show off months of hard work each dancer is taking the stage individually, performing to a virtual audience, and three in-person VIP guests.

Plus, they get to walk down a red carpet, have professional photos taken, and receive their graduation certificate.

Although this isn’t the most ideal situation, the change isn’t all bad.

“For the first time they’re about to create their own recital experience, and we’ve also been able to include families from far away because of technology,” said Misty Lown, Owner of Misty’s Dance Unlimited.

Since the pandemic started, the dancers have been practicing from home through Misty’s online classes.
