Logan athlete reaches podium for wheelchair shotput, 100-meter race at WIAA State Track and Field Championships
Freshman Wyatt Peterson has spina bifida
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A Logan High School athlete can has a new title: State Medalist.
News 8 Now introduced you Logan High School’s Wyatt Peterson on Thursday.
The freshman has spina bifida.
He came into the WIAA State Track and Field Championships with a goal: to be a medalist.
Friday, Peterson did just that.
He threw the shot put 16 feet 10 inches, a personal best and far enough for a fifth-place finish.
Peterson wasn’t done there. He also finished sixth in the 100-meter race — good enough for a second trip to the podium.
