Logan bike swap raises funds for after school program

Kids and adults met Saturday to swap bikes. Logan Middle School held its sixth annual bike swap Saturday morning, where venders and private sellers from all over the Midwest came to sell their cycling goods.

The event raised funds for the Logan Bike Works after school program. The program gives students an opportunity to work on and use bikes, and also acts as a community resource to help people afford bicycle gear and help them get active.

Supervisors at Logan Bike Works said the event Saturday was a big success.

“Two purposes: One was the fact that it’s a fundraiser for the bike shop to keep it rolling. The other one is to help provide gear to people in the community and get to know and find out information. So in both those regards, it’s going great,” said Logan Bike Works supervisor Matthew Christen.
