Loggers let early lead slip, fall 12-5 to Dock Spiders

A lopsided third inning sank the Loggers’ hopes of a series split with the Dock Spiders on Wednesday night, as the Loggers fell 12-5.

The Loggers held a 3-0 lead after the first inning thanks to a wild pitch and misplayed ball in center field by Fond du Lac.

The Dock Spiders responded in the third with eight runs scored, including a three-run home run and a grand slam.

Fond du Lac finished with 12 runs on 13 hits, and they have clinched the Wisconsin-Illinois pod’s East Division title.
