Lois ‘Lo’ Christopherson
October 7, 1939 - June 22, 2022
Lois “Lo” C. Christopherson, 82, of La Crosse peacefully passed away on June 22, 2022. She was born in Milwaukee on October 7, 1939, to Leonard and Lillian (Halverson) Ramlow.
Lo had a heart of gold and made it a habit to think of most others before herself, especially her family. Family always came first — as a mother, she was deeply involved in her daughters’ education and sports activities. Throughout her life, she continued to be their number one cheerleader. Later in life, she earned a master’s degree in education and taught remedial reading for almost 20 years. She left an indelible mark on every student she taught. After her retirement, Lois moved back to La Crosse and spent as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren.
She will be remembered and cherished forever for her boundless love and her endless positivity. Whenever we hear whistling, piano playing or ragtime tunes, our hearts will smile. She touched many lives with her selfless love and eternal optimism. Lo, known as “Moh” to all her grandchildren, was a gentle matriarch.
Lois will be dearly missed by her five daughters, Kim (Jim Mesojedec) Christopherson, Tracy (Tim) Johnson, Rhondi (Mike) Miller, Kristin (Brandt) Freitag, and Kari McNeill; 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Lorna.
A private family service will be held to celebrate her life.
Memorials may be given in Lo’s name to ocrahope.org.
