Major road construction halted for memorial Weekend

Weekend sees average of 8 fatalities each year on Wisconsin roads

Major road construction in our area ground to a halt for this weekend.

Seeing as Memorial Day weekend has many people traveling to their destinations, road construction sites around Wisconsin closed down to allow safer and more efficient travel. The shutdown started noon on Friday and will last through 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

Even though the construction has halted for the weekend there may still be debris or loose gravel, so officials still recommend that you slow down and not follow the vehicle in front of you too closely.

Over the last 5 years Memorial Day weekend has seen an average of 8 traffic fatalities in Wisconsin each year.
