Maleceks, Jillian Lonning win bronze in 4xMile at NSAF Outdoor Nationals

What a season it’s been for the Onalaska girls track relay team of the Malecek sisters and Jillian Lonning.

In their first 4×800 together this spring, they broke the Onalaska school record. Then they won the Division 1 state title together, and now they’re competing in the 4xMile at the NSAF Outdoor Nationals in Oregon.

Onalaska set the state record in the event two years ago at 21:08, but they shattered that Friday out in Oregon, going 20:11 and taking third in the nation. Kora Malecek had the fastest split of everyone at 4:49.

The two teams that finished ahead of them both broke the previous national record of 19:56.75.

Kora will run the two-mile Saturday at nationals, and Amalia and Lydia will run the mile.

Onalaska’s Landon Peterson is also out in Oregon. He competed in long jump Thursday and will run hurdles this evening.
