Man, 19, dies in fall from Minnesota cellphone tower

SOLWAY, Minn. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a 19-year-old North Dakota man who died in a fall from a cellphone tower in northern Minnesota.

The Beltrami County sheriff’s office says Jeremy Jo Froemke of Lisbon, N.D., died Tuesday evening when he fell from the tower south of Solway Elementary School.

Froemke was equipped with a safety harness at the time of the accident.

Sheriff Phil Hodapp says Froemke worked for Midwest Steeplejacks in Fargo, N.D. Froemke fell 153 feet from the cell tower and was killed on impact.

Rory Kiland, owner of Midwest Steeplejacks, told The Bemidji Pioneer on Wednesday that the company could not comment other than to offer condolences to the family.
