Man arrested for 3rd OWI in Vernon County after police chase
VIROQUA, Wis. (WKBT) – The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man for his 3rd OWI after officers chased him near Viroqua last Wednesday. Sheriff John Spears said in a news release an officer pulled Brent Felde over for a routine traffic stop when he got out of his vehicle aggressively before driving away.
The officer followed Felde who had several outstanding warrants for his arrest and was suspected of driving under the influence. The Viroqua Police Department helped chase down Felde. Officers used a taser to arrest Felde.
Officers booked Felde into the Vernon County Detention Center for the outstanding warrants, as well as charges of vehicle operator flee/elude officer, operating while under the influence (3rd offense), obstructing an officer, and operating after revocation.
Felde is being held at the detention center on a cash bond and formal charges will be sought through the Vernon County District Attorney’s Office. The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office will investigate the incident.
