Man arrested for making drug-laced candy

An Indiana man was arrested Friday for allegedly making and distributing drug-laced candy.

According to the IndyStar, Greenfild Police announced the candy “SweeTarts” and “Smarties” were found to have drugs ranging from heroin to Xanax, and officials believe he was distributing them to Hancock and surrounding counties.

Jeremie Smith, 30, faces charges including dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, corrupt business influence, dealing in a Schedule IV controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. Smith’s arrest came as the result of a two-month long investigation.
