Man arrested in woman’s death in Oakdale

OAKDALE, Minn. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a man in Minneapolis as a suspect in the killing of an Oakdale woman.

Thirty-nine-year-old Lori Christine Baker was found dead in her apartment Wednesday. Police say Baker suffered numerous stab wounds and that the suspect knew the victim.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports agents from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, along with the Department of Corrections and the Minneapolis Police Department, arrested the suspect about 2:30 p.m. Thursday. He was taken to Hennepin County Jail.

Baker’s employer called authorities when she didn’t show up for work.

A police report says Baker was found dead on the floor of a bedroom just before 10 a.m. Wednesday. She was alone in her apartment. Her death was ruled a homicide.
