Man arrested on warrant in Trempealeau County after K-9 foot pursuit
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A man was arrested in Trempealeau County on a warrant after a suspicious driving report turned into a foot pursuit involving a police dog and a flying drone.
According to the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office, a driver at about 5 p.m. Tuesday reported seeing a man later identified as Jesse Honaker rear-end another car in the Co-Op Credit Union drive-up lane and throw an orange out the window across the street.
When a sheriff’s deputy arrived, Honaker exited the vehicle and took off on foot, running through the wooded area by the river and Oak Street, according to authorities.
Deputies used a police dog to track Honaker, as well as a drone which searched by air and spotted him near the river and took him into custody.
Honaker had a Department of Corrections warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody.
