Man killed in Clark County rollover crash identified

Crash marks first traffic fatality in the county in 2014

The driver of a pickup truck died after losing control of the vehicle and rolling over on State Highway 73 in the Township of Washburn, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Department.

The sheriff’s department received a call about 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, that a vehicle had rolled over on Highway 73 about a quarter mile west of County Highway K.

Investigators said Floyd L. Colvin, 52, of Neillsville, apparently lost control of his pickup truck and entered the north ditch where it rolled and landed on its roof. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected, the Clark County Sheriff’s Department said. Colvin was later pronounced dead at the scene.  The name of the victim has not been released yet.

Speed did not appear to be a factor, according to investigators. This is the first traffic fatality in Clark County in 2014.

The Granton Fire Department, Granton First Responders and Ministry St. Joseph’s Spirit of Marshfield air medical transport assisted the Clark County Sheriff’s Department with this incident.
