Man killed in head-on crash with semi identified
Incident closed Hwy 27 for several hours Sunday
MONROE COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) — One person died and another was seriously injured after a car collided with a semi near Sparta Sunday.
It happened on State Highway 27 just south of Eagle Ave. in Sparta.
Authorities say a Pontiac Grand Am crossed the center line and hit the semi head-on. The driver of the car, 40-year-old Travis Anderson, of Black River Falls, was killed. The semi driver, 60-year-old Gary Meyer of Stevens Point, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Highway 27 was closed for more than four hours after the accident but is back open.
