Man rescued from tree after chasing pet parrot

An English man had to be rescued from a tree after he tried to chase down his escaped parrot.

According to UPI, firefighters responded to a report of a man and a parrot stuck in a tree last week. Michael Novell, a crew manager for the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Wokingham Road fire station, said the crew was only successful in getting the man to safety.

“The owner gave chase and we had to get them both down,” Novell said. “We managed to get the man down, but unfortunately the parrot made a bid for freedom and succeeded.”

A spokeswoman said the rescue mission took about 35 minutes. The parrot remains on the loose.
