Maple Leaf Parade goes through La Crosse for first time in two years

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The Oktoberfest Maple Leaf Parade made its way through the streets of La Crosse Saturday.

Oktoberfest leaders say that this parade isn’t as big as years past due to some floats not participating.

After being canceled last year, festgoers are back and lining the streets to catch candy and see some of La Crosse’s finest floats.

It’s a tradition that has parade watchers getting prepared well in advance.

“Every year I usually come out here and set my stuff up the night before and stay out here until midnight, comeback in the morning at 5, watch the runners and watch the parade,” parade watcher Adam Bell said.

The Maple Leaf Parade has been around since 1961.
