Races take off from Riverside Park
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The Maple Leaf Walk Run is back to kick off a full line-up of Oktoberfest events on Saturday.
The La Crosse Area Family YMCA held a packet pick-up Friday for racers.
The half marathon, 5-mile and 5K races are more than just a way to get active.
“It also raises money for the Y’s annual campaign,” said Alessha Torres, the YMCA’s donor experience director. “So it support programs like our youth center. And our LIVESTRONG program for cancer survivors. As well as food programs and financial assistance.”
Races take off from Riverside Park at 7 a.m.; a children’s race starts at 9.
You can sign up until the start of the race here.
