Margaret Ann McKenzie
Margaret Ann McKenzie, 96, of Onalaska passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at the Morrow Home in Sparta, WI.
Margaret was employed by Paramount Studios in West Salem for many years. She loved to take pictures of family and beautiful winter scenes. She would oil paint pre-painted pictures and turn them into beautiful works of art. Margaret was also a devoted worker at Burger King, A&W restaurant and Quillins in La Crosse until a stroke forced her into retirement in her early 80s.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Szydel (Michael Gilbertson) of Sparta; grandchildren, Matthew (Donna) Szydel of Green Bay, WI, Brittney (Brandon) Delao of Rockland, WI, and Chad Gilbertson of Black River Falls, WI; seven great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Derrick and Larissa Heath and Keaton, Colvin and Aayven Delao and Elijah Gilbertson; brother, Charles “Pete” Hoffman of La Crosse, and several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Robert (Edith) Hofffman, Edward Hoffman and William Hoffman; three sisters, Jean (Willie) Albitz, Doris (Jack) Wixted and Donna (Ray) Hemker; two brothers-in-law, Harold (Beverly) McKenzie and George (Frannie) McKenzie; one sister-in-law, Gladys; and an infant son, David.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1602 Park Ave, La Crosse. Pastor Robert Wassermann will officiate, and entombment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of services Saturday.
