Mary Cooley

Mary Jane Cooley, 97, of Prairie du Chien passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien.
Mary was born November 18, 1924, the daughter of Bertie and Viola (Meier) Zenz. She grew up on the family farm in the Bloomington area. Mary married Cecil Cooley at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington. They worked their dairy farm and raised seven children. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. When she wasn’t working on the farm, she was taking care of her children.
Mary is survived by her five sons, Cletus (Pat), Bob (Marilyn), Joseph, Gerald, and Vincent (Jody); her sisters, Nelda Krogman, Darlene Rider and Donna Zenz; son-in-law, Jim Bender, daughter-in-law, Sherry Cooley; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; her parents; her daughter, Linda Bender, and her son, Thomas Cooley.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, in the Patch Grove, WI, Cemetery.
