Mayo Clinic Health System offers tips for those living with Type 2 Diabetes
LA CROSSE (WKBT) – This month is National Diabetes Month and Mayo Clinic Health System is bringing attention to Type 2 diabetes.
The CDC reports that more than half of Hispanic adults are expected to develop Type 2 diabetes.
But doctors say plenty can be done to prevent it, including having a balanced diet.
“It’s balanced in terms of nutrition. It has good fiber in there,” said Mayo Clinic Health System dietitian Dr. Lori Heath. “It has the right types of healthy fats in there, has protein and complex carbohydrates.”
