Mayo Clinic in La Crosse reopens separate COVID-19 testing site

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse will reopen its dedicated COVID-19 testing site Aug. 31 after cases increase in our area.

The La Crosse testing site on the corner of 10th and Market streets was closed earlier this year on July 1 as COVID-19 cases went down. It will reopen next Tuesday for patients in our area, who can schedule an appointment through Patient Online Services or by calling 507-293-9525. Testing is available by appointment only.

“Unfortunately, our volumes for testing have seen a large increase with this latest variant of COVID-19 spreading in our community,” says Benjamin G. Anderson, a nurse administrator at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. “We felt this was the most convenient option for patients under the current circumstances, as this site has worked extremely well for patients previously.”

The site will be open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“We ask that patients who are concerned about symptoms consistent with COVID-19 log into Patient Online Services and use Check Symptoms to determine if testing is advised, or contact the Mayo Clinic Nurse Triage line at 507-293-9525 for appropriate screening,” says Kevin Fitzgerald, M.D., chair of the Division of Family Medicine in Mayo Clinic Health System’s Southwest Wisconsin Region. “If you haven’t been vaccinated, please do so. If you have questions or concerns about the vaccine, talk to your provider.”
