Meet the 2013 Mrs. Oktoberfest

Retired fundraiser Kenna Christians has earned the title

LA CROSSE, WI — Another member of the 2013 Oktoberfest royal family was introduced on Wednesday night. Kenna Christians is this year’s Mrs. Oktoberfest.

For more than 30 years, Christians and her husband Roger have hosted a party along the Maple Leaf Parade route. This year she will be walking in it.

She’s a retired professional fundraiser who’s helped with a number of organizations, including at UW-La Crosse, Viterbo, Rotary Club, and most recently the $8.1 campaign for the Weber Performing Arts Center. That’s a short list of people she has helped.

Christians learned that she is this year’s Mrs. Oktoberfest on her birthday in May. Since then, it’s been a tough secret to keep.

“I’d find myself doing things during the day that represent fest and then having to remember that I can’t tell anybody what I was doing, so that was a challenge.”
