Merger of GROW and Hillview Urban Agriculture Center finalized

Combined organization works to provide education and nutritional food to children

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) –  A pair of community organizations are now growing together.

The merger of Hillview Urban Agriculture Center and GROW is now complete.

The planned merger was announced at the start of the year.

The new organization will go by the GROW name and will focus on connecting children to healthy food and nature.

“These opportunities help connect kids and community members to where thats coming from. Those seeds, the chickens and things like that. So it’s super important and research has found that when you do something seed to table, you’re so much more likely to eat it,” said GROW executive director Jamie O’Neill.

Hillview’s history dates back to 1912 growing healthy food to community members.

And GROW has worked since 2011 to connect area kids to healthy food in schools through education.
