Merlyn Charles Loga, age 79, of rural Whitehall, died on Friday, January 24, 2020 in the HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Merlyn Charles Loga, age 79, of rural Whitehall, died on Friday, January 24, 2020 in the HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Merlyn was born on November 23, 1940 in Whitehall to Raymond and Alma (Olson) Loga. He married Kathleen M. Czerzynewski on September 23, 1967 in Saint Francis, WI.
Merlyn served in the United States Army. He did road construction and was a carpenter. Merlyn enjoyed hunting, fishing and singing in Saint John’s Catholic Church choir.
Merlyn is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his siblings, Joanne (Ralph) Miller of Eau Claire, Alverda (Jerry) Simcoe of Minneapolis, MN, Donald (Judy) Loga of Whitehall, Linda Dahl of Osseo, Beverly Waldera of Taylor, Gerald (Marie) Loga of Caledonia, WI, Steve Loga of Madison, David (Brenda) Loga of Whitehall, Rachel (Ronald) Sosalla of Whitehall and Lois (Jim) Kulig of Whitehall; a brother-in-law, Donald Koxlien of Black River Falls and a sister-in-law, LaVonne Loga of Whitehall.
In addition to his parents, Merlyn was preceded in death by a sister, Inez (Donald) Koxlien and a brother, Arlin Loga.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. in Saint John’s Catholic Church in Whitehall with Father Woodrow Pace officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Hutchins-Stendahl American Legion Post #191.
Burial will be in the Bruce Valley Cemetery in rural Strum.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be designated to Saint John’s Catholic Church.
The Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall is assisting the family with arrangements.
