Michelle Obama to campaign in Madison with Burke

First lady Michelle Obama is returning to Madison next week to campaign for the second time in eight days with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke.

Burke’s campaign announced Tuesday that Obama would be appearing with Burke in Madison on Oct. 7. No details were announced.

Obama appeared with Burke for the first time on Monday at a rally in Milwaukee. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie campaigned with Gov. Scott Walker in Hudson on Monday.

So far, President Barack Obama has yet to announce any campaign visits with Burke. She did meet privately with Obama before a Labor Day rally in Milwaukee earlier in September.

Polls show the race between Burke and Walker to be nearly even.
