Milder Tonight With A Slight Chance Of Showers Late -Bill Graul
ALERT DAY Thursday: Strong Storms Possible in Parts of the Area
Tonight’s Forecast Low: 67F / Thursday’s Forecast High: 92F…
Milder tonight with a mix of stars and clouds. A boundary to our west is firing some scattered showers and t-storms… and some of these could try to track east into our area late tonight (after about 4 a.m. or so)… but they will be in a weakening state. The greatest rain chances look to be west of the Miss. River. Lows tonight will be in the 60s for most, but some upper 50s are possible north/east.
Slight chance of showers early Thursday, then most of the morning through mid afternoon looks mainly dry with a mix of sun and clouds. It’s going to be hot and more humid too, with highs in the upper 80s to low and possibly mid 90s if we see enough sunshine.
ALERT DAY for later Thursday: Low pressure and a warm front will then track into our area, bringing the chance for additional showers and storms late in the day and into Thursday night. There’s a chance for some strong to perhaps severe storms, especially across NE Iowa and into Southern Wisconsin… but perhaps as far north as the I-90 corridor. The severe chances are more isolated in northern parts of the viewing area. The main threats in any stronger storms would be strong winds and hail, but isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out… especially south. Be sure to stay tuned for updates… and stay extra weather aware Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.

Still toasty Friday until a cool front tracks southeast across the region Friday afternoon. As it does, I can’t fully rule out an isolated shower or t-storm in spots. Otherwise, expect highs Friday in the upper 80s to around 90F.
Looking Ahead… Mostly sunny and less humid Saturday, with seasonable highs in the low 80s. Another chance for rain comes on Father’s Day Sunday, perhaps some scattered thunderstorms as well. Highs Sunday will be around 80F. Just isolated showers will be possible Monday, with cooler highs in the low-mid 70s for Monday and Tuesday.
More seasonable again on Wednesday with highs around 80F, then a slight chance of showers and storms next Thursday with highs in the mid 80s.
Have a good night and keep an eye on the forecast tomorrow! -Bill Graul
